Who we are
The No Hindutva Maryland Coalition is a grassroots, all-volunteer coalition featuring over a dozen advocacy groups and non-governmental organizations committed to combatting the rise of Hindu Nationalism, (“Hindutva”) in Maryland political and policymaking spaces. Our coalition is spearheaded by activists from across the Indian Diaspora including Upper Caste Indians, Observant Hindus, Ambedkarites, Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox Christians, Sikhs and Muslims. Additionally, we work with countless local and national civil rights groups and progressive causes to educate Marylanders and advocate for effective policy to combat Hindutva’s rise as stealth actor in our state’s politics.
We regularly hold educational workshops and events across Maryland featuring respected academics, journalists, activists and victims of Hindutva from across the US and the world. We also research and help identify Hindutva actors in Maryland politics, and regularly work with national and international press outlets, as well as other first amendement-sanctioned activities to raise awareness about Hindutva.
